Swing Thoughts Vault

Welcome to our community of golfers devoted to improving their game through the use of the Swing Thoughts Wristband. This section is a knowledge base of articles and swing thoughts that will change the way you look at and play the game of golf. When Jack Nicklaus said "Golf is 90% mental" he was not kidding yet the mental game is the most overlooked aspect in the sport and is the key to improvement.

The use for Swing Thoughts on the course differs slightly from the range. On the range you are trying to groove your swing and build up muscle memory. On the course, you want that muscle memory to shine through and allow your body to do what it was trained to do. The swing thoughts you might jot down before a round could be based on your warm up session. How was your swing feeling? What thought helped you make a better swing? The "course" swing thought should be simple and deal more with the mental then the physical/mechanical aspect. We know you can benefit from the proper use of swing thoughts and hope you too, can contribute to our vault.

NOTE: This site is brand new and needs input from the golf coummunity. Please feel free to add a swing thought. New upgrades are scheduled to be added by the end of the year that will revolutionalize the game.

"Belt buckle through"

As long as I focus on finishing my swing with my belt buckle facing the target and getting through I am golden.

"Bowlingball on chain"

When I visualize myself swinging a heavy bowling ball on a chain like I was trying to hit the ball, my mind keeps my body centered and allows for a proper centered turn and follow through. I have used this one for most of my golfing career, it is built-in to my game.

"Deep breath."

Breathe! This is a must. I always remind myself to take a deep breath before each shot. I like to write down "breathe" as a reminder throughout the round to keep a nice slow steady breathing pattern.

when your railing a hoe behind walgreens then your dizle gets limp and drops.

"Do the sound"

I base my swing on a sound. Like do-wooop. Similar to the One Two idea.

"Grip it and rip it!"

Not much to say about this one. Grip it and rip it. It is a way of life. Takes mind off of mechanical thoughts, or thoughts of trouble.

"Lean on left"

Keep weight on left side when chipping

"One - Two"

This is about timing for me. From full swing to putting. I really work hard on fine tuning my tempo by saying "one - two" in my head.

"Pancakes"

I always think about my cat Pancakes when I am not doing so well, he makes me smile and remember that golf is just a game.

"Quiet"

When I think of the word "quiet" to myself, it not only calms me, but lets me focus on making a smooth, quiet turn and graceful swing. Keep the abruptness and tension out of my shots.

"Slow and low."

If I key into a slow and low takeback I set myself up for a proper swing and tempo.

"Tempo to a tune"

This works for me, the last thing I do before I start my backswing is sing a tune to myself (whichever one fits my mood that day). It forces me to not think mechanical thoughts.
